1. Taraweeh

Narrated `Aisha: (the wife of the Prophet) Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) used to pray (at night) in Ramadan. [Bukhari]

Az-Zuhri said: “A Tasbihah in Ramadan is better than a thousand Tasbihah in other that it.” [Tirmidhi]

3. Laylatul Qadr

Narrated Ibn `Abbas: Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, “The Night of Qadr is in the last ten nights of the month (Ramadan), either on the first nine or in the last (remaining) seven nights (of Ramadan).” Ibn `Abbas added, “Search for it on the twenty-fourth (of Ramadan). [Bukhari]

4. Forgiveness of sins

Narrated Abu Huraira: I heard Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) saying regarding Ramadan, “Whoever prayed at night in it (the month of Ramadan) out of sincere Faith and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven.” [Bukhari]

5. I’tikaf

Narrated `Aisha: Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) used to practice I`tikaf in the last ten nights of Ramadan and used to say, “Look for the Night of Qadr in the last ten nights of the month of Ramadan.” [Bukhari]

6. Paradise

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, “When Ramadan begins, the gates of Paradise are opened.” [Bukhari]

7. Umrah

It was narrated from Abu Ma’qil that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:“ ‘Umrah during Ramadan is equivalent to Hajj.” [Ibn Majah]

8. Expiation of sins

Abu Huraira reported: Verily the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: The five (daily) prayers and from one Friday prayer to the (next) Friday prayer, and from Ramadhan to Ramadhan are expiations for the (sins) committed in between (their intervals) provided one shuns the major sins. [Muslim]

9. When to fast

Narrated Ibn `Umar: I heard Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) saying, “When you see the crescent (of the month of Ramadan), start fasting, and when you see the crescent (of the month of Shawwal), stop fasting; and if the sky is overcast (and you can’t see it) then regard the month of Ramadan as of 30 days.” [Bukhari]

10. Praying during the night

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: “The Messenger of Allah used to encourage (us) to pray Qiyam during Ramadan, without insisting on that, and he said: ‘Whoever spends the nights of Ramadan in prayer (Qiyam) out of faith and in the hope of reward, he will be forgiven his previous sins’. [Nasa’i]
