Ways To Build Houses In Paradise (Jannah)

In Islam, the concept of Jannah (Paradise) is a place of spiritual reward for those who have led good lives and followed the teachings of Allah. “And those who have believed and done righteous deeds – We will surely assign to them of Paradise [elevated] chambers beneath which rivers flow, wherein they abide eternally. Excellent is the reward of the [righteous] workers”  (Surah Al Ankaboot 58:59)

Read Surah Ikhlas (Qul Huwallahu Ahad) 10 times

Mu’adh ibn Anas (RA)reported: The Prophet (SAW), said, “Whoever recites the entire chapter, ‘He is Allah, the One’ (112:1) ten times, Allah will build a palace for him in Paradise.”  (Musnad Ahmad)

Maintain a good character

Abu Umamah (RA) reported: The Messenger of Allah (SAW), said, “I guarantee a house on the outskirts of Paradise for one who leaves arguments even if he is right, and a house in the middle of Paradise for one who abandons lies even when joking, and a house in the highest part of Paradise for one who makes his character excellent.” (Sunan Abu Dawud)

Patience at the loss of an infant child

Abu Musa al-Ashari (RA) reported: The Messenger of Allah (SAW), said, “When the child of a servant dies, Allah says to the angels: Have you taken the life of My servant’s child? They say yes. Allah says: Have you taken the fruit of his heart? They say yes. Allah says: What has My servant said? They say: He has praised You and said to Allah we belong and to Allah we return. Build a masjid

Uthman ibn Affan (RA) reported: The Messenger of Allah (SAW), said, “Whoever builds a masjid for Allah, Allah will build for him a house like it in Paradise.” (Source: Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim)

Pray 12 additional rakaah of nafl salaah each day

Aisha (RA) reported: The Messenger of Allah (SAW), said, “Whoever perseveres in performing twelve cycles of prayer from the Sunnah, Allah will build a house for him in Paradise. They are four cycles before noon prayer and two after it, two cycles after sunset prayer, two cycles after evening prayer, and two cycles before dawn prayer.”  (Sunan al-Tirmidhī)

Ask Allah for a house

“And Allah presents an example of those who believed: the wife of Pharaoh, when she said, “My Lord, build for me near You a house in Paradise…”(Surah At-Tahrim 66:11)

Recite Surah Dukhan on the night before Friday

Hazrat Abu Umamah (RA) narrates that Rasulullah (SAW) said: Anyone who recites Surah Dukhan No.44) on Friday, in the night or in the day, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise. (Al Mu’jam al Kabeer)

Visit the sick

Abu Hurairah (RA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said:  ‘Whoever visits the sick, or visits his brother in Allah (faith), a caller calls out: ‘May you have goodness and livelihood be good, and may you dwell in an adobe in Paradise.’

Feed the hungry and spend the night in prayer

Abdullah ibn Amr (RA) reported: The Messenger of Allah (SAW), said, “Verily, in Paradise are rooms whose outside can be seen from inside and whose inside can be seen from outside.” Abu Musa said, “Who are they for, O Messenger of Allah?” The Prophet said, “For those who speak mildly, feed the hungry, and spend the night standing for the sake of Allah while people sleep.”  (Musnad Ahmad)
