What is Manzil Dua?
Manzil is the name given to a collection of 33 verses taken from different parts of the Quran to be read to afford a remedy and protection from several negative spiritual effects and influences including sorcery, black magic, witchcraft and evil influences of Jinn.
Daily recital also helps provide safety from thieves, burglaries and gives general safety and security for the home, family and honour.

How to recite the Manzil
This has been practised by many eminent scholars and is known to have been compiled by Shaykh Zakariyya of Saharanpur Daruloom many decades ago.
The various verses of the Quran included in the manzil are usually compiled together in a short pamphlet for ease of reading. These books are available online and in Islamic bookshops. They should be recited in one sitting and preferably once in the morning and once at night before retiring to bed.
Hadith regarding Quran verses for cure
The recital of Quran verses during illness and other maladies and for protection has been practiced by the Prophet (SAW) and many Muslims for centuries. For example a hadith states:
‘A’isha (RA) reported that when any of the members of the household fell ill Allah’s Messenger (SAW) used to blow over him by reciting Mu’awwidhatan (the last two Surahs of the Quran 113 and 114) and when he suffered from illness of which he died I used to blow over him and rubbed his body with his hand for his hand had greater healing power than my hand.
(Sahih Muslim)
It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: ‘In Surah al-Baqarah there is an ayah which is the best of all the ayahs of the Qur’aan. It is never recited in a house but the Shaytaan leaves: Ayat al-Kursi.’ This is found in Quran 2:255
The above verses make up a part of the manzil and other similar verses have been collected in order to be read together. The following is the complete collection together with their meanings and a hadith of the last Prophet (SAW) regarding these verses.
Hazrat [Shaykh al-Hadith Mawlana Zakariyya al-Kandhlawi’s] son, Mawlana Talha, mentioned in the short introduction to one copy of the Manzil that the Manzil is actually taken from a Hadith [of] Mustadrak.
The Hadith is mentioned in the Mustadrak of Hākim (vol.4, p.413):
Ubayy ibn Ka`b (RA) said: I was with the Messenger of Allah (SAW) when a bedouin came and said: “O Prophet of Allah, I have a brother who has a problem.”
The Messenger of Allah (SAW) asked, “And what is his problem?” The bedouin said, “He has a slight mental derangement.” The Messenger of Allah (SAW) told him to bring his brother to him.
So the bedouin brought his brother before the Messenger of Allah (SAW) so he read over him: And when the Messenger of Allah (SAW) read this upon him, he got up as if he never had a problem to complain about.
(Mustadrak of Hākim (vol.4, p.413)
Imam Hākim says: “Shaykhān (Bukhari and Muslim) have accepted the narrators of this Hadith, except for Abu Jannab al-Kalbi. But the Hadith is Mahfūz and Sahīh…”
Imam Dhahabi comments saying: “Abu Jannab al-Kalbi: Dāruqutni has said he is da`īf and the Hadith is munkar.”
